Applications and Implications:#
- Plan a final project masterpiece that integrates the range of units covered, answering:
- What will it do?
- Who’s done what beforehand?
- What sources will you use?
- What will you design?
- What materials and components will be used?
- Where will come from?
- How much will they cost?
- What parts and systems will be made?
- What processes will be used?
- What questions need to be answered?
- How will it be evaluated?
-
Your project should incorporate:
- 2D and 3D design 2D及び3Dのデザイン
- Additive and subtractive fabrication processes Additiveとsubtractiveファブリケーションプロセスを含むこと(複数の素材やプロセスを組み合わせて扱う)
- Electronics design and production
- Embedded microcontroller interfacing and programming
- System integration and packaging
- Where possible, you should make rather than buy the parts of your project.
- Projects can be separate or joint, but need to show individual mastery of the skills, and be independently operable.
See Final Project Requirements for a complete list of requirements you must fulfil.
Project Development:#
- Prepare drafts of your final project
- summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and
- video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~25 MB),
- put them in your root directory, and
- check that they are linked in the final presentation schedule
Learning outcomes:#
- Define the scope of a project
- Develop a project plan including a schedule and a bill of materials (BOM)
- Track the progress of your project
- Summarise and communicate the essence of your project development
Have you answered these questions?#
- These are from last year but still contains useful tips
- Made your slide> 1920 x 1080 pixels with your name, project name, Fab Lab name, a photo/render/sketch of your project, a brief description of what your project is/does
- Made a ~1 minute (25MB/1080p) video of your final project showing its fabrication and functionality
- Made a separate Final Project page that summarises/documents your project
- Included the BOM (Bill of Materials) for your project
- Linked from this page to any weeks that you worked on your final project
- Documented how you implemented system integration in your final project
- Linked to your presentation.png and presentation.mp4; make sure they are located to the root of your website
- Included all of your original design files in the archive (2D & 3D, board files & code). No external hosting of final project files - discuss file sizes with your instructor
- Included the license you chose
- Acknowledged work done by others
Advices from Instructors#
-
Goal for the week
- To determine and document the specifications for the Final Project.
- Final Project
- To determine and document the specifications for the Final Project.
-
Point - What to submit?
- FP Page(そのページに以下を記載)
- Single Slide(今週はSpaceHolderでOK) →Rootに格納
- Video(今週はSpaceHolderでOK) →Rootに格納
- Answer to the Questions
- Schedule
- BOM (部品表)
- Tracking Page (プロジェクトの進捗状況の追跡を拡充)
-
The slide should be named: “presentation.png” , and the video “presentation.mp4”, No capital letters.
-
Your Final Project page should have 3 separated sections:
- Final Project Proposal (What you prepared for Week 01)
- Final Project Development (This is like your diary, what you are doing during the cycle)
- Final Project: The Final Video and Slide, BOM , answers to the questions and needed files for replicating your project
-
Advice
-
It’s okay if things change later, so please apply the current plan to the requirements and put them together.
-
The BOM (bill of materials) is OK that you are planning as of today.
- BOM(bill of materials : 材料リスト)は、現時点でわかっているものでOK。
-
Requirements of Final project#
- Read carefully Final Project Requirements
- Commercial Board Policy
